Step 01

Type Your Text

Tap the text field at the top and type whatever you want displayed — your name, a word, a phrase. Use the ✕ button to clear and start again.

Step 02

Pick a Colour

Swipe the Colour picker to choose your neon hue. Swipe the Backdrop picker to set the background. Or hit Randomise to let the app decide.

Step 03

Choose Your Font

Swipe the Font picker to browse the built-in typefaces. Each font gives your neon sign a completely different personality.

Step 04

Select an Effect

Swipe the Effect picker to choose from Neon, Backlit, and more. Preview the effect live before saving.

Step 05

Hold to Lock

Want to keep your colour but randomise everything else? Tap the HOLD button under any picker to lock it in place during randomisation.

Step 06

Save & Set

Tap Save to export as a still image, or Save Live Photo for the animated version. Then set it as your wallpaper in iOS Settings.

Setting as Wallpaper on iOS

  1. After saving, open the Photos app and find your new wallpaper.
  2. Tap the Share button (box with arrow), then tap Use as Wallpaper.
  3. Or go to Settings → Wallpaper → Add New Wallpaper and select your photo.
  4. For Live Photo wallpapers, choose Live Photo as your wallpaper type so the animation plays when you press and hold.
Does the app need an internet connection? +
No — all rendering is done entirely on-device. You don't need Wi-Fi or mobile data to create, save, or view your wallpapers.
What resolution are the wallpapers? +
Wallpapers are generated at a size appropriate for your device's screen resolution, so they look sharp on any iPhone display including Pro Max models.
How do Live Photo wallpapers work? +
When you save a Live Photo wallpaper and set it in iOS, pressing and holding the Lock Screen activates the animation — your neon sign flickers and pulses to life. This requires iOS's Live Photo wallpaper support, available on iPhone 6s and later.
What is the HOLD button? +
Each of the four pickers (Backdrop, Colour, Font, Effect) has a HOLD toggle below it. When active, that picker won't change when you hit the Randomise button — handy if you've found a colour you love but want to explore different fonts or effects.
I saved my wallpaper but can't find it in Photos. +
Check that the app has permission to save to your Photos library. Go to iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Neon Wallpaper Creator and make sure it's set to "Add Photos Only" or "Full Access".
Can I use my own fonts? +
Not currently — the app includes a curated set of display fonts chosen to work beautifully with neon and backlit effects. Custom font support may come in a future update.
Is the app free? +
Yes, the core app is free to download on the App Store. Check the app listing for the current offer details.
